I recently had a conversation with a friend who has major thought for travel and anxiety or rather very strong nerves.
This one friend actually represents many friends I have. Though she has anxiety of doing things that are not “normal” for her comfort zone such as going to my pole dance show, I feel my advice to her can be applied to anything.
This isn’t for any medically diagnosed anxiety, but more for those who are just nervous and unsure.
Many have told me that they just aren’t up for traveling by themselves or nervous about doing a new hobby or activity. My only advice:
Just do it. Just jump! If you want to do it, do it. Don’t let doubt stop you.
These same friends just say oh, I have XYZ to do. Basically, they come up with an excuse.
Always an Excuse
There is always an excuse NOT to do something. The trick is to go against doubt and find the excuse to DO IT.
What I do and how I behave isn’t because I’m more special or somehow greatly different. Anyone can do it, it just takes that courage to leap and once you do, you will find yourself with more and more confidence.
More in more security.
Whether you want to watch a particular dance performance or you want to start your own business or you want to quit your job and travel for a year, just do it!
Don’t wait for permission, don’t let your own insecurities and nerves hold you back.
As an aside, she did end up coming to my show and absolutely loved it. She told me she was so happy she did it. This is the same for traveling. It is scary, but totally worth it!
We only have one life, we need to live it as the much as possible! Live and be happy 🤗
